Our first year sailing south, we were warned; go around Georgia, go around Georgia, it's nothing but grasslands.
If you know us, you know where we went; Georgia! And sure enough, it was nothing but grasslands… oh, but what gorgeous grasslands they were!
Golden greens as far as the eye could see, quite back creeks where we could explore. Some so shallow, that even our kayaks had trouble navigating through them and yet others so deep we could anchor Rocinante with her 6 1/2 foot draft.
It was just such a creek where we decided to anchor amid the fading light. As we made our way deeper into the mass of reeds & cattails, we came upon a solitary skiff. Adrift and abandoned, she bobbled up and down in our wake as we backed down on our anchor. She seemed almost happy to see us; perhaps we would be the ones to save her…
I hope you enjoy your painting as much as I enjoyed creating it!
